Azusa resident Ed Heinlein spent the night at his home, but this morning he was heading out due to the danger of mudslide. Azusa has imposed mandatory evacuation orders for residents near the Colby Fire burn area due to fears of debris and mud flows. The affected area is north Sierra Madre between the western city boundaries of Azusa/Glendora to the eastern boundary of properties on the west side of Little Dalton Wash: From Irfan Khan/ Los Angeles Times
Flooding was reported on several streets and at least two big rig crashes blocked major freeways at the start of a rainy day that includes flood advisories for much of the region. More on traffic.

What to expect: National Weather Service says we'll get about 2 to 4 inches of rain Friday through Saturday night in the coasts and valleys, with 4 to 8 inches expected in the foothills and mountains. The strongest rain is expected Friday morning through afternoon.
