    The final countdown
    Santa loves the Big Apple!

Ho ho ho and happy holidays to everyone!

As you can imagine, we're as busy as ever up here at the North Pole: the reindeer are carbo-loading for the big trek, Mrs. Claus is putting the finishing touches on one of her patented jingle-shaking playlists and the elves are feverishly cranking out the iPhones.

But, wait-- what's that you say? You can't contain your excitement until Christmas morning? Well, you're in luck! On Christmas Eve, Mrs. Claus will be hosting a chat with yours truly, showing you exactly what a day in the life of ol' Saint Nick is like. From my in-sleigh hi-jinks to my regional costume changes, you'll full access to the entire Santa gang!

We'll also be answering questions from YOU so be sure to send in your queries and we'll answer them.

And be sure to check back here everyday until then because in their downtime, the North Pole crew may be posting some treats to tide you over until the big day.

So join us on Dec. 24 from 12–1 p.m. ET

    Merrily yours,

    Santa

    Hello, everyone—Mrs. Claus checking in!

I am so very excited to hear from all of you and to pass your questions on to Santa on Christmas Eve! We had the elves put together a super-smartphone so that Santa will be able to stay in touch with us while he is delivering presents. (Not while driving the sleigh, of course—Santa doesn't text and fly!)

Santa took the sleigh for a test run the other day (yes, this is the daytime—it's always dark on the North Pole at this time of year!) All system are go—Santa and the reindeer are set to fly on Christmas Eve!

I don't know about all of you, but one of my favourite parts of Christmas is all the wonderful music it inspires!

    Mrs. Claus' favourite Christmas tunes

To help you get as excited as me, I put together a list of a few of my favourite Christmas songs from over the years. I think there's a little something for everything in this list.

First, there's nothing like a good sleigh ride when there's some snow on the ground.

    by Mrs. Claus via YouTube

Another classic, another favourite. Everyone likes feeling holly jolly, and when it's around Christmas time, it's the absolute best.

    by Mrs. Claus via YouTube

Another great part about Christmas is how people try to brighten up the long nights. Check out this family home, who set their Christmas lights to one of my favourite Trans-Siberian Orchestra tunes.

    by Mrs. Claus via YouTube

Do you remember the 1990s? I do, and I'll admit—I was a big N'Sync fan.

    by Mrs. Claus via YouTube

And a contemporary take on another classic Christmas tune—those Glee cast members really know how to belt one out! Also, they think it's cold there? I'd like to invite them up for dinner...

    by Mrs. Claus via YouTube

Beliebe it or not, Bieber fever has spread as far north as our humble abode. (Shh...don't tell, but even Santa is a fan.) I love that Justin Bieber lent his voice and boyish good looks to this Mariah Carey classic!

    by Mrs. Claus via YouTube

And no Christmas tune list would be complete without this tune. Mister Bublé is just so dreamy...

I also really like this version of the song...

Hey guys! I've snuck away from the shop for a few minutes to say hello. I'll make this quick—we have a lot to get done before tomorrow!

A lot of people ask us what us elves do to unwind after a long day of toy-making. To that question, I have one word: MOVIES!

The best Christmas movies as decided by elves

There's nothing better after a long day of making magic happen then kicking back with a good flick and a giant bowl of popcorn. (A few years ago, there was a last-minute incident with a child on the Nice List that resulted in the elves' quarters getting a popcorn maker.) So, without further ado, here's some of our favourite Christmas movies.

    Home Alone

    Elf

    (Obviously!)

    Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

    National Lampoons: Christmas Vacation

    A Christmas Story

    Die Hard

    Black Christmas

(Because sometimes, you just need something that's not a happy movie.)

Hi Santa, thanks for doing this chat. i know youre busy. i really wanted to know what's your favourite cookie?
  • 12/24/2013 5:07:19 PM via ScribbleLive Mrs. Claus
Hello there Genevieve! Santa's always told me his favourite cookie is my homemade chocolate chip mint cream shortbread surprise. It's an old, secret family recipe – but it's got a lot of butter in it, I'll tell you that!
  • 12/24/2013 5:07:35 PM via SMS Santa
Good day, Genevieve! Mrs Claus' cookies are delicious, indeed. But I think variety is the spice of life. The Toronto Star published some delicious recipes recently...

  • 12/24/2013 5:09:07 PM via SMS Santa
I do wear goggles! We're always very conscientious of safety at the workshop!
  • 12/24/2013 5:09:43 PM via ScribbleLive Sunny Elf
Sunny Elf here! We have just hit some turbulence and I almost tossed my Christmas cookies! Donner and Blitzen are trying to steer us into calmer winds!
  • 12/24/2013 5:10:08 PM via ScribbleLive Mrs. Claus
Oh no, Sunny! Watch out, and keep that sleigh solid! We don't want the presents falling overboard into an ocean!

Santa, which reindeer is the naughtiest?
  • 12/24/2013 5:16:30 PM via SMS Santa
Hi Michelle! All reindeer have a bit of a wild streak but Rudolph is definitely the most brazen-- I mean, he'd have to be to volunteer to lead the sleigh!
